STORY
Rishi (Prabhas) is on a mission to find Stephen and Roberts lands in Hyderabad and gather some information. Later shifts to Bangkok with his friend Narasaraju(Brahmannandam) where he tries to woo Nandini(Tamanna) the dance teacher(who tends to be daughter of villain gang member) with the help of Narasaraju. Later he succeds and gets some secret information from her.
Nandini comes to know the motive of Rishi who has a tragic flash back , Bhupathi (Krishnam Raju) is a head of village gets cheated and killed by his own brother Mukesh Rushi and sitting MLA Simhadhri(Pradeep Rawat) who asks him for support in election and Bhupathi rejects . Rishi’s girlfriend Deepali(Deeksha Seth) also gets killed . Later Simhadhri suicides fearing Rishi. Rishi turns into gangster aka Rebel aka yamudu to take revenge on his uncle forms the story .
PERFORMANCES
Prabhas is extremely stylish with well toned and highly muscular body looked awesome as gangster. His variations in roles show his command on acting. The customs suited him really well to elevate his physic. His dance steps are fantastic.Rebel Star Krishnam Raju has played a role in the film and he is good as the powerful Don Bhupathi.
Tamanna is mind-blowing as a hip hop dance teacher and glamorous , she is awesome in songs with traffic dance steps. Her solo song is excellent . Deekseth has very little role to play and that’s fine but,She was overshadowed by Tamannah . Pradeep Rawat,Mukesh, Brahmanandam are just average performance wise.
TECHNICAL
Screenplay of the film is adequate in the first half and is little disappointing in the second half. Director Lawrence concentrated more on the styling and mass elements rather on subject. Direction of the film is adequate.
Music and background score is average. Google search, Rey song is the best in picturization aspect. Cinematography by Ram Prasad is pretty good. Dialogues are adequate. The serious dialogues written for Prabhas are not effective enough. Fights done are efficient and stylish (especially Russian fight sequence). Editing is alright. Production values are excellent. The entire movie is mounted on a grand scale.
